Great and in depth app!

I downloaded several Japanese-learning apps and this, by far is the most informative. You still need to put the time in to fully grasp the concepts (like learning any new language) but its presented and especially written in a way that is both straightforward and honest. The writers honesty about the "nuances" of Japanese is actually what makes it entertaining and reminds you that learning such a complex language is not impossible. The non-profit nature of the app also shows that all those involved just want to share their knowledge. Thanks for the great learning tool.

This app is great for beginner to intermediate learners. Consider how the Japanese grammar can be as complicated as hell, this app is a life saver.

Ive tried many other and its the best. Very well structured and easy to understand. The fact that its free is unbelievable. An iPad version would be really great.

Tae Kims grammar guide is an amazing resource and Im glad to see it adapted to iOS. I remember downloading the pdf from guidetojapanese.org Throughout my experience, this guide has helped me, whether as a beginner trying to read manga and get used to particles, or recently as an upper intermediate trying to translate songs into japanese. This resource isnt about giving you phrases; it focuses on explaining things in an easy way to understand and review. Unlike many apps that claim to teach japanese, this does not copy and paste information and expect you to memorize. This is what you use when you understand the words but not the meaning of the sentence. Having a guide like this, a good dictionary like imiwa? or midori, and material to practice with, you can jump right into japanese of any level and start learning. Nonetheless, as a tip to all of you still learning, you will need to memorize at some point for vocab. How you decide to memorize is your choice, but I enjoy memorizing my favourite j-pop instead of a bland vocab list.

Well done. Easy to navigate. Nice set of features. Most importantly, gives a good base and sense to the language beginner.

Its free and and very easy to understand. Its a must have for people who are starting to learn Japanese.
